Title: Red X over battery - SP15 Laptop
Post by: kinhchua1990 on January 16, 2018, 02:58:26 AM
I have a SP15 Laptop that has a red X over the battery icon in Windows.  It tells me to consider replacing my battery.  I have followed the procedure for flashing the ROM for charging problems, with no change.  This is the second battery that has done this.  Should I replace the battery again, or should it be sent in for testing?

Good morning,

So this is the second battery in the same machine to have this problem? These are older machines and laptop batteries do go bad after time, but if you put a new battery in this machine recently and it is still having this problem there is a chance something else is going on. We can certainly have it sent in for testing if you would like. If you would like to go that route, please contact one of us in Helpdesk by either email (helpdesk@bytespeed.com), calling in using the 877-553-0777 number, or start a LiveChat with us at Bytespeed.com and then we can set up a ticket. Please note that there will be charges involved with sending in an out of warranty laptop.

Thanks,
