KC400 Firmware Update
« on: February 17, 2017, 08:55:56 AM »
If you are seeing issues with your Kingston KC400 SSD, please try updating the firmware. The firmware update is currently only available as a bootable ISO update.

Here is the link to download the ISO: https://media.kingston.com/support/downloads/KC400_SHSS_to_SAFM001B.iso

Steps
1. Download the KC400/SHSS Firmware Update ISO if you haven’t already done so.
2. Create bootable USB drive based on the KC400_SHSS_to_SAFM001B.iso file.
Note: There are a variety of software options available that will allow you to create a bootable USB drive
based on an ISO file, but we’ve had success with Rufus: ftp://support.bytespeed.com/External/Misc/Rufus_ISO_DOS_USB/ - username: bytespeed - password: guest#1
This link includes instructions on using Rufus
3. Boot from USB drive and select “live – boot the Live system“
4. Follow the onscreen prompts to update target drive.
5. Update your drive. When successful, you will see:
a. The SSD Firmware has been updated on drive [serial number]
b. Power cycle is required to see and use the new code.
6. Shutdown system.
7. Power on system and use drive as normal.
