post beeps / server model SR1630GP
« on: May 11, 2011, 11:47:35 AM »
Hey all,

We recently received two SR1630GP's.  When they turn on, they give a series of beeps - I believe this happens at or near the RAID config option screen.

Is there any documentation that would give me a list of normal and trouble beep codes for these servers?

Thanks!

Hello Wolf,

The rapid quick beeps that you hear after first powering those model servers on are normal and are more of an "all systems ready" code as explained here:
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-031822.htm

The service guide for that system board can be found here:
http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s3420gp/sb/sr1630gp_sr1630hgp_serviceguide1.pdf
It lists only 1 beep error code and that is the "3 beep" code which specifies a problem with the system RAM.
