C15B Fn+F8 Repeated Key Presses
« on: November 19, 2015, 12:50:22 PM »
Just received the C15B, and I'm running Linux Mint 17.2.

I've been having an issue where the Function keys aren't working properly.  Whenever Fn+F8, Fn+F10, Fn+F11 or Fn+F12 are pressed, the corresponding function repeatedly toggles until I reboot.

As a test I removed the hotkey associated with Fn+F8, which switches display modes. When I'm in a text editor, I get a string of never ending "pppppppp" when I press Fn+F8.

Is this a known phenomenon? The bios that was shipped with the unit is version 617, is there a possible update that addresses this issue?

Thanks!

Hi John.S,

This sounds like a compatibility issue with Linux, there is an actual driver for Windows that needs to be installed to run the Function Keys properly.  Unfortunately Linux is not officially supported and Linux drivers for this model do not exist.  We have not run into this issue with users running Windows, if someone has seen this with Linux, it hasn't been reported to us as far as I know.

Thanks,

Tony
